Seven reasons that 'fit and healthy people' cling to their spare tyre and can't shift the fat
Not eating enough Protein: Most people find that they are not eating anywhere near enough protein to lose weight. The reason that protein is so important is because the body requires energy to break protein down . You use calories digesting it. What’s not digested gets eliminated in your urine.
As a rule of thumb you should be eating 1g of protein for pound you weigh. e.g. if you’re10 stone (140Lb) you should be eating 140 grams of protein per day
Inappropriate timing of meals: Busy at work all day and forget to eat, feel ravenous and get a chocolate bar for a quick boost of energy on the way home; get home and have a big meal. If you count up your calories you probably have not eaten that much during the day.
When I looked at some nutritional diaries I was surprised, a number of people either skipped breakfast or just had some toast and jam swilled down with a coffee at around 7am and often would not eat again until 12.30 or 1 O clock.
So they’ve gone from 9PM the previous evening until 1 Pm that's 16 hours on a piece of toast and jam. You don't need a nutritionist to tell you that can’t be good for your body or your performance.
By having one really big meal instead of several smaller meals evenly spaced throughout the day can cause you to put on weight even though the calories could remain within your daily amount.
It's Not How Much You Eat It's More A Case Of How, What And When You Eat
I'll show you how to make 4 meals that are simple tasty and nutritious and will help you lose fat – making those 4 meals can be done in 15 minutes a day.
Eating too much fruit: Yes I know it’s hard to believe but if you're wanting to lose weight eating too much fruit could be your downfall. Fruit is very high in sugars, sure there’s lots of other great vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants which are great for you but if your wanting to manage your weight you need to keep a careful eye on your fruit consumption and eat more vegetables instead.
Eating too little fat: As crazy as it may seem that in order to lose fat you need to eat fat. Our cells need fat in particular fat in the form of Omega 3, you've probably heard of Omega 3 it's the fat that's found in high concentrations in oily fish like haddock, sardines and salmon. Vegetarian sources of Omega 3 are pumpkin seeds and flax seeds or linseeds.
Drinking sports drinks while working out: Often I see people who are overweight sweating buckets on the treadmill supping on a sugary sports drink. I'm assuming they're 'busting a gut' in order to lose weight. It's crazy... It's hard for me to resist the temptation of going over there and saying ‘Have you got any idea that you are wasting your time?
Not eating enough food: Often people try and skip meals, or 'starve' themselves in order to lose weight. This does not work, your body is very sensitive to periods of feast and famine.. We've been accustomed to millions of years of a hunter gatherer lifestyle. It's only relatively recently in terms of human existence that we have been able to really regulate our food supply.
When you try and starve yourself your body cries out
' OK we could be in for a long stretch here with out food, who knows when we are going to get hold of another woolly mammoth to eat, lets hold onto our fat supplies for as long as possible '
I'll show you ways that you can trick your body and re-calibrate your metabolism so that you can turn on the hormones that are responsible for burning fat and turn down the hormones that cause you to store fat- just by choosing what and when to eat When you learn the 'simple science' behind this and how easy it is to do you will be shocked. It's so simple!
During the past 50 years in the western world our diet has included higher amounts of 'bad fat' and crazy amounts of sugar and processed carbohydrates and we've become too sensitive to the fat storing hormone - Insulin.
We need to decrease our bodies tendency to store fat by making it less susceptible to the fat storing effects of insulin. The good news is that within 14 days YOU CAN START THE PROCESS of desensitisation to insulin.
Our bodies have become very efficient at converting excess food to fat and less efficient at burning fat.
By changing some of the foods you eat and the times of day that you consume them , you can make adjustments so your body is ready to burn fat instead of store it.
The good news is that with the Four Week Fat Loss plan some day’s you'll be required to overeat in order to lose weight . Yes a moderate 'gorging day' is essential for ongoing weight loss!
Here's How The Four Week Fat Loss Program Works....
There are 4 stages:
- A preliminary induction phase of one week where you get yourself ready. It’s not a time to go shooting form the hip all guns blazing. Lets get all the ducks in a row first and organised.
- A 2 week phase where there is concentrated effort where you'll lose 6-12 lbs of fat, not water …..pure fat.
- An off plan phase that lasts a minimum of a week and as long as you want until you are ready or need to lose another 6-12 lbs.
- A maintenance phase - When you've reached your ideal level you'll need to start eating more or exercising less
Induction week (Week 0)-Organisation and getting yourself ready...
It's important to get yourself organised before taking on any new endeavor. This might be hard for some people who are naturally impatient. Sure you can jump in straight away and skip the induction week, but you increase your chances of failure by doing so. You'll likely run out of the correct foods and end up eating the wrong food at the wrong time, you'll feel frustrated with yourself and feel like throwing in the towel. So please take your time and use this week to get organised, you can start your exercising in this induction week if you are really keen on doing something more 'pro-active'. It's my aim to make this system work for you and getting prepared is a vital part of that. It's all to easy to start something and then stop it and the chances of that are increased if you steam in without proper preparation. Whilst working with the Royal Marines they taught me the phrase ’Proper Preparation and Planning Prevents Piss Poor Results’
Weeks 1 and 2
In this 2 week phase you will lose between 6 and 12 pounds of fat depending on your starting point. The good news is the more overweight you are the more you will lose. The other determining factor is how closely you follow the system and how intense you want to exercise - if you exercise more vigorously you can expect to burn more calories and therefore lose more weight. You’ll still lose some weight if you don’t exercise at all but we cant guarantee the 6-12 lbs.. The exercise works so effectively, because of he way that we time the exercise in relation to what you have eaten. The fat starts melting off you.
Week 3 – Recovery Week
Your body quickly adapts to how much food and exercise you're getting, it sets it’s metabolic rate accordingly. Having a couple of days where you overeat actually helps you lose more weight and in the long term, your body thinks: Oh it's OK, I don't have to hold onto my fat stores so much because the good old days are back, I can relax now. Then you 'trick' your body by reverting back to the program if you need to lose some more fat. It's a very simple system based on the latest scientific research into weight loss and fat burning.
As soon as you get to a weight that you are comfortable with you'll need to adjust what you eat and your exercise schedule so you stop losing weight. The good news is that by this stage you will have learnt the principles that will enable you to control your weight for the rest of your life. In the phase 4 section I provide strategies that will help you add more food and eat and exercise in a way that will keep your weight stable. The great thing about Four Week Fat Loss is that the principles can be easily adapted to any situation you may find yourself in, so you'll never feel like a social outcast at any setting.

How will this programme fit in with every day life?
Like anything that is new it takes a little bit of adjusting to. However I'm certain that once you get into this way of eating you will save hours each week as you wont have to think about your meals and you'll be able to whip them up very quickly.
Your family will be able to eat the same foods as you even if they are fussy eaters.
No more cottage pie for Dad and the kids and a rice cake, lettuce leaves and a dollop of watery cottage cheese for you. You'll all be able to eat the same food.
If you don’t tell your family they probably won’t even notice that anything much is different, if they twig that there’s no more chips, mash or pasta you can still give them a little bit. You’ll just have to skip those yourself.
What will help me succeed?
Organisation is probably the most important factor.
People often make poor food choices because of a lack of organisation, they want to eat healthily but because they've not planned what they are going to eat for the week they pick up a ready meal on the way home or even worse a pizza or takeaway. I'll teach you how to organise your meal planning, shopping and cooking. I'll also share a list of foods to keep in your freezer so you'll never get 'caught short' and end up having to eat pizza and oven chips.
Will I feel hungry?
You wont feel hungry, your more likely to be saying - Oh no I've got to eat again, it cant be that time already You'll probably be spending a bit more on food but you'll be losing fat, you'll have more energy, you wont be hungry and even if you are we have a list of good snacks that you can use in between times.

Also I recommend you purchase some fish oil supplements, coconut oil and green tea which should cost around £20 for the 4 weeks.
How much will power will I need?
You shouldn't need masses of will power because you are unlikely to be feeling hungry. You might need a bit to get you out of your comfy chair to do the daily exercise, but for 2 weeks that’s a small price to pay.
Why does this system work so well?
It's based on scientific principles that work. It's structured so you know exactly what to do at specific times there's no gray areas. Read the plan, make your own personalised plan and away you go. The secret, if there is one, is all about maximising production of fat burning hormones and minimizing hormones that are responsible for fat storage.
Is it worth the effort?

Are there foods I can eat as much of as I want?
Yes! There's a list of free eating foods which if you want you can eat till your hearts content. They are great to bulk out your meals with. Like I said YOU WILL NOT be hungry. Often some people find it a challenge to eat the required amount.
Will I put the weight back on as soon as I stop the program?
Yes if you start eating exactly as you did before. The goal is to change how you eat, you wont have the highs and lows anymore,you'll be more consistent post program. At your ideal weight I'll be encouraging you to eat 4-6 meals a day this is what 6 meals a day could look like for you 8am, 10 am, 12.00, 2.00, 4.00, 6.30 and 9P. You wont be hungry I promise you and you'll be eating delicious nutritious food.
You’ll be more aware of what you eat, a lot of illnesses that we have are diet related and I'm not just talking about the obvious ones like heart disease and some cancers, so eating nutritious foods is going to improve your overall well being.
